Personal Branding: The Key to Thrive in Today's Marketplace

It actually deals with the fact that nowadays, each person should consider herself on the market place as an entity. Therefore, the choices made for its career have to be managed such as a business plan for a brand. And that is why the author calls "personal branding". It is actually a complete process consisting in not being stuck with our past, but try to improve personal effectiveness.

In the overall economic situation, it is most important to act differently.

I personally think indeed that it is important to be optimistic, though the current situation. It is necessary for people who are looking for a job to adjust themselves to the new employment world.

That is why following a process like the author suggests it is according to me the best advice for us, who are looking for a job. We have to build our career step by step, keep motivation, be efficent and do not underestimate our skills.

They are what we need to put a stress on.

    I agree with everything you said and I would like to add that nowadays it is a challenging experience to keep in track with your career ambitions because the professional world is more and more complicated: You need to be focused and specialised on one sector if you want to be a real ace.
    Once upon a time there were less professions and you were supposed to know a little bit of everything.
    Nowadays it is no possible no more because you need to be well specialised in your own sector.
    Of course it is esential to be polyvalent and you must feel adapted to any different situation.
    So what about changing sector?
    In Saxon countries like USA or UK it is easier and people tend to give you a second chance in a sector which is different from the one which you began but in Latin countries like France or Italy changing job means being not reliable.
    That is why you need to brand yourself as soon as possible and in the best lifelong way you can.
